As PA closed its message boards for non-subscribers today, April 19th, I'd like to ask folks who post bows or interesting experiences on PA to give us a short excerpt.

We'll help with uploading pictures etc.

Perhaps you can "import" some of the stuff we are doing to PA, too!

what the heck...

Since you need an US zipcode i would say:
PA is from now on only open for us-american citizens.

thanks!

Ah!

The PA board ist now open for non US citizens.
You are able to use the countryname instead of zipcode.

But its too sad, that you have to subscribe directly at PA to use the board.

On the road to enlightment...

Thanks for clearing that up.
I was about to mistake PA for Pennsylvania State.
Some use that abbreviation for Philadelphia as well, but obviously this didn't make a lot of sense...

Maybe they wanted to put a stop to nonsense - an restrict the board to archers only?

Then I would like to coin a new meaning to PA and refer to us all as "prime archers".
It appears more appropriate, wouldn't you agree?

(Not to be confused with "primate archers"...!!)

In my youth, PA were power amplifiers - every garage band needed them. "The times, they are a'changing."

But would someone kindly fill me in: Why special English boards? Aren't we educated and multicultural enough to post bilingually if that should be necessary? At present at least I see only German native speakers practicing their more or less rusty English (a worthy cause in itself, I admit!).

Are we expecting an international invasion - FC waiting for the barbarians? ;-)

[edit: grammar - just exercising! :D ]

Quite the contrary

The babarians of the FC tribe are preparing to invade the rest of the world..

The reason

It's nice to see you practicing your English, of course, but this was not meant as an evening studies opportunity, of course.
We just hope that some native English speakers will use the opportunity to post or ask questions about German threads that interest them and which they might not quite understand.

We'll see if that works, I am sure it will take some time until the idea catches on.

My suggestion: If you have a thread that you liked or contributed, something that was helpful to you, you could summarize the main ideas of this thread and repost it here in English, pictures etc. included. Then foreign guest would have something to comment upon - which would lower the threshold, making it easier for them to post.

Could you do that? Don't bother too much about spelling errors or grammar mistakes. A lot of people on PA were none too careful about it, either. I'd only "help" if there could be misunderstandings.

BTW there is a very nice Chinese guy on ATARN whose English is creative in the extreme. It takes a lot of imagination to figure out what he's aiming at. He posts frequently and makes valid contributions. So you see, don't worry.

Posting bilingually?? I'll second that!

I like the idea of re-posting in English in this section and make it more appealing for non-German-speakers.

Why else should they bother to check if they cannot understand a thing?

I wouldn't mind doing some translating again, so I'm game and will translate some summaries of useful threads.

Great!

That's the spirit, girl!;-)

e.g. the experiments about dyeing feathers, colouring and embellishing leather...

those threads are unique!
